Getting Started

First Step for Prospective Clients:

I offer a brief free initial phone consultation to help you get to know me and ask any questions about therapy. This consultation gives us a chance to discuss your needs, my approach, and whether working together would be a good fit.

After the initial consultation, I encourage you to take a bit of time to consider whether you would like to begin working with me and once I hear back from you, we can schedule our first session. Prior to the meeting I will send some questionnaires to you to complete ahead of our appointment. You will also receive information about how to access our first appointment (whether online or in person).

Standard therapy sessions are 50–60 minutes. We can determine the frequency and length based on your needs and your systems capacity to engage. This can be adjusted based on your needs.

The length of therapy looks different for each person and depends on many factors, including your goals, history, and what feels comfortable and sustainable for you. Some people come for a few months to focus on a specific concern, while others choose longer-term therapy to support deeper healing and ongoing growth.

Feeling nervous, unsure, or even skeptical about therapy is very common. You do not have to have the ‘right’ words or a clear story; part of our work can be to gently untangle what you are feeling and what you want, at a pace that feels manageable for you.
